Course Tutor - Health & Social Care (Deputy Programme Leader role available for the right candidate)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to Pt 9 of the SFCA Teachers Pay Spine – currently £51,714 pro rata per annum. (Deputy PL role would attract a responsibility allowance of £1,316 per annum, plus 1 period of management remission)
Hours: 0.76 – 1.0 FTE (26 – 34 periods per week, Monday – Thursday/Friday)

Varndean College is a popular and successful sixth form college in Brighton and Hove, offering a wide range of A Level, vocational and International Baccalaureate courses to around 2,000 students aged 16–19. We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified teacher to join our Health & Social Care team. Health and Social Care sits within the IB & Vocational school, alongside subjects such as PE, Sport and Public Services.
For candidates with the appropriate experience and leadership skills, there will also be the opportunity to apply for the role of Deputy Programme Leader for Health and Social Care. The Deputy Programme Leader will support curriculum development and work closely with the Programme Leader and colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning and student outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and/or professional vocational qualification, together with a recognised teaching qualification/Qualified Teacher Status.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and reliable Exam Invigilators to supervise students when taking their public examinations. The role of Invigilator involves supervising examinations according to Examination Board Regulations, distributing question and answer papers, ensuring that the students enter and leave exam halls calmly, and dealing with student queries. The post is paid at a rate of £13.45 per hour. Hours will vary depending on the number of examinations and the number of students taking these exams each day.

Cleaner

Salary: Band 2, point 3 – £24,759 pro rata per annum (actual salary £9,800.65 per annum)
Hours: 16 hours per week, (4.00 pm to 7.00 pm Mon, Weds, Thurs, Fri and 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm on Tuesdays), 42 weeks per year – (term time plus three weeks)

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and experienced Cleaner for evening shifts, Mondays to Fridays. The Cleaning team is part of the Premises Dept and is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidy environments for staff and students. Cleaning staff work to standards outlined in the College Cleaning Specification and Floor Maintenance Programme.
