On Thursday 15 January, Varndean Sixth Form College played host to 24 Korean visitors who came to learn more about the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme and how we implement the qualification as the only state-funded provider in Sussex.
The delegation consisted of Principals, Head Teachers, teaching and admin staff from various middle and elementary schools from the Gyeongsangbuk region of Korea, as well as the Chairperson of the Education Committee and Director of the Education Bureau. They were also joined by the Head of the IB World Schools who came to visit Varndean for the occasion.
Guests were provided with presentations on the structure of the IB Diploma and how the programme could be implemented in Gyeongsangbuk-do, an overview of Varndean Sixth Form College and the study programmes we offer, the learning experiences and personal growth of students studying the IB, followed by a Q&A and a tour of our college with the opportunity to view our students in lessons.
