Year 10 Taster Days

If you are a Year 10 student and looking at which college to apply to for September 2027, you will not want to miss attending one of our Year 10 Taster Days on either Fri 3 July or Tues 14 July 2026.

Our Year 10 Taster Days provide an exciting opportunity to experience a day as a student at Varndean Sixth Form College and get a flavour of what an exceptional college we are.  You will be able take part in four subject sessions of your choice (subject to availability), a session about the college in general, meet our lovely tutors, obtain more information about the courses we offer, as well as to get chance to look around our beautiful and unique campus.

To Apply

Applications must be submitted using the Online Application Form below.   As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide your parent/carer’s email address.  This is so that we can inform your parent/carer that you have applied to attend the Taster Day and obtain their consent.  We will also ask for any important medical details about you that we need to be made aware of.  Please note that without the return of this Parent Consent Form, your place at the Year 10 Taster Day cannot be confirmed.

PLACES ARE LIMITED, SO EARLY BOOKING IS ADVISABLE

Closing Date: Friday 15th May 2026

Please note:  Some schools have requested that their students attend on one specific date only, these are listed in the table below.

School Friday 3rd July only Tuesday 14th July only
Blatchington Mill
Burgess Hill Academy
Chailey School
Dorothy Stringer
Downlands School
Hove Park
Lewes Priory
Longhill
PACA
Patcham School

Please note

Please do not arrive on the day unless you have a confirmed place at the event. We have to be in receipt of an online application as well as your returned parent/carer’s Consent Form. The event also involves the complex procedure of timetabling students onto individual subject sessions, which cannot be over-capacity and unfortunately cannot be undertaken on the day.
