Our A Level Textiles students recently attended the Knitting and Stitching Show at London’s Olympia and a number of them entered the show’s Dressmaking Competition which had three categories: ‘A Dress from your Stash’, ‘Go Green’ and ‘Upcycle old into New’.
We are pleased to congratulate Spencer Thornton (Year 2) and Mia Brimilcombe-Cowie (Year 1) who were chosen as finalists with their dresses being exhibited in the Competition Gallery at the show, as well as being modelled on their catwalk. The visiting public then voted for their favourite garment and second year student Spencer Thornton won! Well done to both Mia and Spencer, with huge congratulations to Spencer who deserved the win due to all his hard work and innovative garments constructed from scraps of used clothing.
