This week saw Varndean Sixth Form College play host to 11 teacher trainees from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
The trainees were in the UK for a short time studying at the University of Sussex, during which time they had the opportunity to visit Varndean in order to observe English A Level and GCSE lessons, meet with teaching staff, and gain an insight into the UK further education system. The visit provided a valuable chance to compare approaches to teaching, learning, and student support. Discussions around delivery of the curriculum, pedagogy, inclusion, and classroom culture encouraged reflection and fresh perspectives on everyday teaching practice.
The visit strengthened links between Varndean Sixth Form College and both the University of Sussex and University of Gothenburg.
