Varndean College Football

On April 22nd 2009, a team of mostly first year students many in the Varndean College first team soccer squad played a visiting team from Dorothy Stringer School. The Dorothy Stringer team are current champions of their league, so despite the slight age (and corresponding physical) advantage, the Varndean players knew they were in for a tough match. This was borne out, when after a goalless first half, the visitors scored three goals in fairly quick succession. The Varndean players were able to pull two goals back, but despite a last minute scramble, were unable to score the equaliser.

Congratulations go to the players from Dorothy Stringer several of whom will hopefully be joining us next autumn.
