On April 29th 2009, Varndean College hosted a 6-a-side football tournament for teams from primary schools in the local area.

The following Schools competed:

• Fairlight Primary School
• Saltdean Primary School
• Coldean Primary School
• Westdene Primary School
• Balfour Junior School
• Benfield Junior School
• St John The Baptist RC School
• Hertford Junior School
• Middle Street Primary School

The tournament consisted of a series of 7 minute matches – with each team playing every other team once. At the end, the team with the most wins was Balfour – so congratulations go to them – along with thanks to all the pupils and staff who took part.

Special thanks also go to Paul Rhymes and the other Varndean staff and students who helped organise, referee and score the event.
