Who is this for?
Beginners who have an artistic inclination and an interest in horticulture and improving their gardens.
What Will I Learn?
You will learn to survey your garden, draw to scale and design a practical and fully workable design to your own taste.
Content of the Course
Come and learn how to measure and design your garden on this 8 week course. Week by week you will be inspired by talks on horticulture, planting trends, design principles, garden styles, mood boards and colouring techniques. With plenty of studio time and guidance from a practising designer, learn to put your own creative ideas for the garden down on paper and realise those ideas in a practical way in time for next year. Materials - £20 payable to the tutor on first evening.
Equipment Needed
All basic and necessary equipment will be provided in the first lesson at a cost of £15 to be payable to the tutor on the first evening.
Work needed to be Done outside of the Classroom
There will be some homework to enable you to become involved in the design process.
Assessment Details
There will be a group critique where everyone will have the opportunity to present their designs along with ongoing assessment and help.
What Next?
Having achieved your design, the next step is to make the garden either on your own or by a professional company.
This course has already started for this term
